2018 Program Update
For many years, the Prince Charitable Trusts has been supporting organizations addressing the needs and priorities of the environment and the residents in and around the District. More recently, we have started to align this support with opportunities centered in communities east of the Anacostia River.

In 2016 we engaged with the MARPAT Foundation to support organizations working in Wards 7 and 8 on the equitable revitalization of parks in the Anacostia River corridor. After over 30 years of generosity, the MARPAT Foundation will have spent its assets and cease all of its grant-making by December 31, 2017. As part of its final spend down, MARPAT has provided Prince Charitable Trusts with the remaining funds intended for Anacostia related activities over the next five years. These funds will augment the grant-making Prince Charitable Trusts has been doing and will also enable us to assist additional work that is aligned with the priorities we share with the MARPAT Foundation. Click on Areas of Interest below for more information.

This will entail support for current champions of this work, including former MARPAT grantees, but may also necessitate support for new or different organizations, innovative strategies and emerging leaders. Because of this, Prince will be unable to consider funding requests from many former MARPAT grantees; however, if any organization thinks its work is aligned, we would welcome a short description of your ideas. You can send this via email to Prince Charitable Trusts staff. Please do not send a full proposal until requested by a Program Officer.
